THE NEED
To strengthen capacity for the development of regional multi-sectoral partnerships for a global handwashing initiative; and to engage local and international partners in the development of future strategies

THE ORGANIZATION
The World Bank is a global partnership working towards sustainable solutions that reduce poverty and build shared prosperity in developing countries. The organization acted as the Secretariat of the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing (PPPHW).

WHAT WE DID
(1) As part of the University of Handwashing, provided customized training on “Strategies to Build Successful Partnerships: Focus on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)” to regional partnership coordinators from 16 different countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Provided follow up guidance and strategic recommendations on partnerships-related issues that emerged from the workshop

(2) Designed and facilitated a stocktaking conversation as part of the semi-annual meeting of the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing (PPPHW) steering committee. Developed strategic recommendations and reports for a multi-year action plan
