Centering multi-sectoral partnerships to promote global handwashing

To strengthen capacity for the development of regional multi-sectoral partnerships for a global handwashing initiative; and to engage local and international partners in the development of future strategies THE ORGANIZATION The World Bank is a global partnership working towards sustainable solutions that reduce poverty and build shared prosperity in developing countries. The organization acted as the Secretariat of the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing (PPPHW). WHAT WE DID (1) As part of the University of Handwashing, provided customized training on “Strategies to Build Successful Partnerships: Focus on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)” to regional partnership coordinators from 16 different countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Provided follow up guidance and strategic recommendations on partnerships-related issues that emerged from the workshop (2) Designed and facilitated a stocktaking conversation as part of the semi-annual meeting of the Global Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing (PPPHW) steering committee.
